The process of transforming Iran into a non-threatening, non-jihadist state does not require sending ground forces into that country. Rather, it requires issuing a credible ultimatum to Iran: “Choose your own government. If you choose one that still embraces Islamic totalitarianism, we will continue bombing your country, particularly government facilities (including the residences of government officials). When you’ve installed a government that, in our judgment, has rejected jihadism and is no longer a threat to us, we will stop our bombing.”
Harry Binswanger, March 12, 2026, HBL #209158: I have no objection at all to using the dreaded “boots on the ground,” but I want to question the mantra chanted everywhere: “You can’t create regime change by air strikes.”
Why can’t you? “Air strikes” include drone strikes, which can take out individual people. “Air strikes” can include parachuting down weapons—machine guns, semi-automatic weapons, hand grenades, etc.—for the Iranian populace.
